Scope of this tool - please read before relying on this result:
  • Treats the applied force as pure longitudinal shear on the weld throat - the directional-strength increase AISC 360 J2.4 allows for welds loaded at an angle is NOT applied here.
  • Fillet welds only - not groove/butt welds.
  • Checks the weld itself only - does not check the parent material either side of it.
