HSS Shapes - Rectangular - HSS16x12x.5

Rectangular HSS (Hollow Structural Sections) are closed, tube-shaped sections formed into a rectangular profile. Their closed shape gives them excellent torsional stiffness, while the unequal depth and width let you put the greater stiffness where the loading needs it. That makes rectangular HSS a common choice for beams and girts, canopy and entrance framing, architecturally exposed steelwork, and any framing where a clean closed profile and a strong axis are both required.
